Earthquake Relief

Earthquake Relief

Weekly Update
We are presently on the ground in some of the areas most heavily affected by the earthquakes of February, 6th, 2023. With the death toll rising above 35,000 we see a growing need for aide for the region and for those who have survived this disaster. We believe that God is at work and will use those who are willing to comfort those who are in desperate need. Presently our head pastor, Ramazan, and the local pastor of our downtown congregation, Özgür, are in Adana, and Hatay delivering prepared relief packages and coordinating with local church members, local aid organizations (like Ilk Umut) and international aid organizations (like Samaritan's Purse) to provide the necessary on site supplies and help.

In the meantime the city of Antalya has received a large influx of survivors from the region and we are housing between 10 and 20 survivors at any given time. Many members of the church are opening their homes to close and distant relatives and others are taking in strangers who need a place to stay.

While many regions have received some help we are hearing of areas that have had no aid. It is to such locations that our on site relief workers are delivering items like tents, batteries, clean bedding and towels, and necessary toiletries.  If you would like to give support or to keep up with our ongoing efforts please email us at churchofantalya@gmail.com . You can donate on our Donate Page . Our most recent newsletter regarding the efforts can be seen just below these pictures. Please pray for Turkey in this time and in the days that follow as much healing is needed.

Ongoing Work Photos

  • Please pray for strength and health for the team of 5 serving the temporary hospital.
  • Please pray for safety for Ramazan, Ozgur, and countless others who are driving long distances with cars and vans full of supplies.
  • Please pray for the people who have come to stay at the church building.
  • Pray for them as they grieve and that they would see the love of Christ through those who care for them. (These are Muslims who have decided to stay at a church!)
